Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has visited the “Trei frați” (Three Brothers) agrotourism guesthouse in the village of Darcauti, northern Soroca district. The guesthouse has been recently opened by a young local family – spouses Efim and Irina Cazacu, parents of four children.

The Cazacu family started their entrepreneurial activity in beekeeping, purchasing six plots of land in the village. Later, they ruled to capitalize on the tourism potential of the region. Today, the guesthouse operates as a modern complex made up of four holiday cottages for tourists and provides accommodation and leisure services, such as cycling and organizing summer camps for children. The development works were carried out with the financial support of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture and projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu discussed with the owners the development plans for the guesthouse, such as installing photovoltaic panels, opening a small petting zoo for children, as well as repairing the access road – a necessity for all residents of the village.

“I sincerely appreciate the effort and determination of this young family. Rural entrepreneurship is essential for the development of our communities, for creating jobs at home and for harnessing the natural and tourism heritage of Moldova. And the government will continue to support people who choose to invest at home,” said Prime Minister Munteanu.

The Soroca district is part of the cross-border cultural-tourism route, Voivode Stephen the Great and Holy, which includes such tourist attractions as Soroca Fortress, the Candle of Gratitude, and the Nicolae Bulat Museum of History and Ethnography. The route was created in 2019, following the signing of the cooperation agreement in the field of tourism between Moldova and Romania.
