Moldovan government to provide grants up to 1.5 million lei for small, medium-sized enterprises to become more energy efficient
The government will provide non-reimbursable funding of up to 1.5 million lei for at least 24 small and medium-sized enterprises that will invest in energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy solutions, or energy efficiency improvements.
At a today's meeting, the cabinet of ministers approved the signing of the Grant Agreement between the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), for the implementation of the Project titled, Strong Enterprises and Communities for Moldova.
The total value of the non-reimbursable financial assistance is 1.85 million euros. Each selected company will receive a grant of up to 1.5 million lei (about 77 thousand euros), accounting for up to 50 per cent of the investment costs. The project’s overall budget will reach 3.68 million euros, of which 1.85 million euros are the grants provided by GIZ and 1.83 million euros are the entrepreneurs' contributions to the carrying out of the investment projects.
Thus, small and medium-sized enterprises will benefit from technological modernization, optimization of internal processes and reduced energy costs, which will contribute to the enhancement of the productivity and competitiveness of these businesses.
The project implementation period is from December 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.
