Inauguration of Moldovan Consulates in Sacramento and Chicago

Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will pay a working visit to the United States of America. He will attend the official inauguration ceremony of the Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Sacramento on 29 March and will meet with Moldovan community members. On the same day, in Chicago, the second Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in the USA will be opened.

'The expansion of the consular network is a strategic step towards improving the services provided to Moldovan citizens in the United States. The opening of the consulates in Sacramento and Chicago will contribute to strengthening ties with the diaspora and facilitating access to quality consular services,' said Popșoi.

In Washington, the official will have meetings with officials from the State Department, the US Congress and the National Security Council. Popșoi will participate in a public debate organized by the Atlantic Council, and will approach Moldova's path to EU accession and deepening bilateral relations with the USA.

On 6 April, the Deputy Prime Minister will meet with members of the Moldovan community in Orlando, Florida.
