Foreign Affairs Committees chairs of Baltic and Nordic Parliaments come to Chișinău to support Moldova's European path

Chairs of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Baltic and Nordic Parliaments (NB8) are in Chișinău today to convey a signal of support for Moldova's European path.

The officials' visit will last for two days, and discussions will focus on issues related to regional foreign and security policy, as well as the challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession process.

According to the agenda, the officials will meet with President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu. At the parliament, they have a meeting with deputy speaker Doina Gherman.

The officials will have a joint discussion with head of the foreign policy and European integration commission Ina Coșeru, head of the national security, defense and public order commission Lilian Carp and head of the parliamentary committee for monitoring and parliamentary control of the implementation of Moldova's reintegration policy Roman Roșca.

The agenda also includes discussions with deputy speaker, Communists and Socialists Bloc faction head Vlad Batrîncea .

The agenda includes discussions with civil society. On Tuesday, the European officials will visit Gagauzia to meet with representatives of local public authorities.

NB8 (Nordic-Baltic 8) is a regional cooperation format that brings together eight countries: Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden. The forum's competences cover topical regional and international issues.
