Moldovan entrepreneurs can export duty-free to Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein
Moldovan entrepreneurs can export duty-free or at reduced rates to all EFTA member states (Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein). This is possible since, starting today, the Free Trade Agreement with EFTA countries became 100% operational.
Thus, economic agents will be able to expand their presence in some of the most prosperous markets in the world, with over 15 million potential consumers.
“The Free Trade Agreement with the European Free Trade Association, known as EFTA, officially comes into force, which means more exports to these countries and more investments from EFTA states. We are opening new markets for Moldovan products and attracting investments into our economy,” the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization said.
Moldovan products with great export potential to EFTA countries include wine and spirits, grapes and fresh fruits – apples, plums, cherries, natural honey, sunflower oil and oilseeds, packaging, clothing and footwear.
In June 2023, the Republic of Moldova signed a historic free trade agreement with EFTA. In the following two years, the agreement was ratified by all signatory states.
