Romanian promoted in Chicago kindergarten

A Romanian-language kindergarten in Chicago offers a modern educational environment where children are encouraged to preserve their mother tongue while gradually learning English.

The institution has a capacity of 123 places, and currently enrolls about 40 preschoolers. The educational process is structured, with teaching primarily in English, but educators speak Romanian or Ukrainian, depending on the parents' preferences.

During a recent visit to the USA, Speaker Igor Grosu also visited Bumblebee Academy, the Romanian-language kindergarten. He discussed with educators and parents the importance of preserving the Romanian language among diaspora children.

'I congratulated them for courage and for creating a place where children can learn and grow in the spirit of traditions from home,' Grosu said.

For better communication with parents, the kindergarten uses a digital application that allows them to track the children's daily activities, educational progress and meals in real-time.

Institution's representative Raisa Iraida Zabrian thanked Igor Grosu for the visit, words of encouragement and the gift, Albinuța book, emphasizing the importance of support for Moldovans in diaspora and preserving traditions.

'This book has sentimental value for each of us, and our children will enjoy it just as we did at the beginning of our journey in education. We appreciate the support for Moldovans in diaspora and your dedication to keeping our traditions alive, no matter the distance,' wrote Zabrian on her Facebook page.

Through these initiatives, the kindergarten contributes to preserving the Romanian language and culture among diaspora children, while at the same time, providing them with a solid foundation for integration into the American educational system.
