Moldova participates in meeting of chairpersons of Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs
The head of the Commission for European Integration, Marcel Spatari, is representing Moldova at the Meeting of the Chairpersons of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC), held in Cyprus on January 11–12.
The event brings together the chairpersons of parliamentary committees specialized in European affairs from the member states of the European Union, focusing on the exchange of expertise and coordination regarding parliamentary oversight of European processes.
The meeting’s agenda includes two topic-related. The first is dedicated to presenting the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union, structured around three main directions: strengthening the EU’s strategic autonomy and resilience, promoting an outward-looking Union and strengthening social cohesion.
The second session addresses European geopolitical challenges and ways to respond to external pressures, including the need to adjust certain EU policies in this context.
Founded in 1989, COSAC works as a platform for cooperation and exchange of information between the national parliaments of the member states and the European Parliament.
