Moldovan parliament speaker condemns Russian missile attacks on more Ukrainian cities

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu condemns last night's Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and extends condolences to the victims' families.

“Last night, while people were sleeping in their homes in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipro, Kherson, Russia launched a massive drone and bomb attack. The explosions were so powerful, that the buildings hit burned and collapsed immediately and survivors are still being searched for among the rubble. The images captured by journalists in the district of the Ukrainian capital are terrifying, tough to watch and experience. Dozens of people are severely injured, others died on the spot. All these people were in their homes and in their city, and in the middle of the night, Putin sent bombs over them, he sent death,” wrote Grosu.

The speaker reiterated that Moldovans stood with Ukraine.

“I hear more and more voices, spread by Russian propaganda too, saying we are tired of hearing about war. Yes, we will speak every day about the horrors caused by Putin's war and we will thank Ukrainians at every opportunity for resisting, for fighting, even with their own lives. On these days, when we celebrate Easter, we should pray for peace and unity,” Grosu concluded.

At least nine people last night were killed and over 70 injured, including children, in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian capital. The last missile attack on Kyiv occurred in early April.
