Over 75,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship participated in Romania’s presidential elections by 16:30. About 774,000 Romanians from abroad voted in the election in all by this time.
Romanian citizens of Moldova can exercise their right to vote at 64 polling stations. They are open as of 7:00 till 21:00. Thus, there are only four hours left until the polling stations close. If there are people in queue, the voting process can be extended by up to three hours, until midnight in Romania.
To be able to vote in the presidential elections, citizens must have one of the following documents: identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, identity bulletin, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, electronic service passport, ordinary passport, electronic ordinary passport, temporary ordinary passport, military service card (for students in military schools).
As many as 965 polling stations were opened abroad at Romania’s presidential elections. Romanian citizens of the Diaspora have three days available to vote. For the first round - May 2, 3, and 4, and in the case of the second round - May 16, 17, and 18. There are 11 candidates in the presidential race.
