Romania’s Interim Prime Minister to visit Chișinău
Romania’s interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will pay a visit to Chișinău at the end of this week. Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu made the statement today.
In Chișinău, Romania’s Prime Minister will take part in the event - Strong city halls, developed localities, organized on May 29 in the Great National Assembly Square.
“In the context of cooperation and coordination of our actions with local authorities, on May 29 we will organize the national event Strong city halls, developed localities right here, in the Great National Assembly Square. So far, over 500 city halls have initiated the process of voluntary amalgamation. This shows that more and more communities understand that development comes through effective cooperation and greater administrative capacity. I am convinced that this event will clearly convey that the reform of local public administration means better services, larger investments, and stronger communities. In this context, I announce, for the first time, that Romania’s Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who is coming to the Republic of Moldova will also take part in this event on May 29. Romania has been and remains our main strategic partner and an important supporter of the development of communities in the Republic of Moldova. Together with our colleagues from Romania, we will continue discussions on all the projects we have initiated; we have a great many joint files, and this will be a very good opportunity to discuss them and perhaps to speed them up,” said Alexandru Munteanu at the beginning of the Government meeting.
The most recent visit to the Republic of Moldova by Romania’s Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan took place in August 2025.
