CSP sets up preselection committee for candidates for Chief Prosecutor of Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office

The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) established, in today's meeting, the preselection committee for candidates for the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. This represents the first stage in the public competition for selecting the future head of the institution.

The committee consists of five members appointed according to the legal framework: one proposed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, one by the Ministry of Justice, and three by the Superior Council of Prosecutors.

Thus, the committee will include: Larisa Miculeț, advisor to the President of the Republic of Moldova for citizen relations; Roman Scripnic, advisor in the office of the Minister of Justice; Andrea Annamaria Chiș, an expert in the justice from Romania, former member of Romania's Superior Council of Magistracy, and a university lecturer at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca; Viorel Ciobanu, prosecutor in the Human Trafficking Section of the General Prosecutor's Office; and Vitalie Rusu, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences at Alecu Russo State University of Bălți.

Octavian Iachimovschi and Marcel Dumbravan have submitted the applications for the position of Chief Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The position of head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office became vacant after the former head, Veronica Dragalin, announced resignation.
