VIDEO // ARBOM provides food boxes for 500 low-income people from Taraclia

The Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community of Moldova (ARBOM), during the winter holidays, provided 500 boxes with basic food products for low-income people from the town of Taraclia.

Director of the Association Alexandr Borimecicov said that this was an act of solidarity and that the goal of the campaign was to ease, at least a little, the burden of high expenses for people with special needs, elderly people and those who remained alone.

"We received a request from the Social Protection Directorate of the town of Taraclia and we responded with this assistance, which is to be distributed to people who are in urgent need of our support. The boxes contain pasta, oil, grains, canned meat – basic products so that people can save money and spend less on food," Borimecicov explained.

The authorities highlighted ARBOM’s responsiveness in the effort to make life easier for local residents with low incomes.

"ARBOM has provided us with assistance for people with special needs, including those with disabilities from childhood, of degrees I, II and III. Among the beneficiaries, there are also people who have no one and are cared for at home by our assistants. We count on future cooperation with ARBOM and with Alexandr Borimecicov," said Ivanna Caffedji, head of the Community Social Assistance Service of Taraclia.

"I hope that the help they are giving us will make our lives easier, for a while; here we have the bare necessities for a certain period. Right now, any support is welcome. Thank you for the help and it would be good, if there were more people like Alexandr Borimecicov," said one of the beneficiaries.

The Association for the Development of the Bulgarian Community of Moldova this year will enhance its involvement in various projects dedicated to ethnic Bulgarians from Taraclia.
