„The first EU-Moldova intergovernmental conference was held yesterday. This happened only two years after we had submitted the application on accession in March 2022. Today, I want to especially thank and to appreciate the work of those who do not quite appear in photos, at TV stations and this means hundreds of thousands of people from Moldova who work day by day with dedication, for this thing to be possible and so we have succeeded,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said at the beginning of a today’s cabinet meeting.

Referring to the objective set by the head of state to prepare Moldova for accession till 2030, the PM said that ‘’this thing is realizable.’’

„What the organization of the yesterday conference means. This means that we have five years and a half to edify medical, education, social, services, infrastructure, energy, business environment according to the European standards, so that the citizens can live in peace and well-being here at home. Yesterday, we made sure of the fact that President Sandu ensured us the support of all capitals of the EU member countries, so that we can edify Europe at home and this is already our task for this desideratum, in essence, of all Moldova’s citizens, to be turned into reality,’’ Dorin Recean noted.

The prime minister also said that, ‘’on 20 October, all of us, the entire society, should make up our mind in what direction we move and whether we want to edify a life in welfare and peace. ‘’ The plan is clear: we must ensure prosperity to all citizens of Moldova, here at home,’’ the PM added.

The negotiations on Moldova’s accession to the European Union were officially launched at an intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg on 25 June. The country’s delegation was led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
