Foreigners making significant investments in Moldova to be able to get Moldovan citizenship
Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved a draft on amendment of the legislation, submitted by a group of MPs as legislative initiative. Under the draft, the foreigners due to make significant investments in Moldova will benefit from facilities in getting the Moldovan citizenship.
To be able to acquire Moldova’s citizenship, the concerned foreigners will have to contribute to increasing the investments, especially in strategic sectors. The sum of the needed investments will be established by the government.
According to the Justice Ministry, other conditions are that the concerned person poses no gander for public order of the state and enjoys a good economic and financial reputation. Also, the families of the investors will be able to get the citizenship, if they make investments in Moldova’s economy as well.
The draft will be submitted to parliament for consideration and adoption.
