Government allocates resources for paying membership fees to international organizations
The Government today approved the draft decision on paying, from the 2026 state budget, the membership fees of the Republic of Moldova in international organizations.
Minister of Finance Andrian Gavrilița stated that the draft provides for the allocation of resources to pay membership fees to 56 international organizations of which the Republic of Moldova is a member. For this purpose, an amount of 56.4 million lei is required. According to the explanatory note to the draft, budget allocations for 2026 are increasing by 2.4 million lei, or 4.4%, compared to the amount approved for 2025, and by 5.4 million lei, or 10.7%, compared to the amount executed in 2025. This increase is explained by higher membership contributions in some international organizations and exchange rate fluctuations.
At the same time, the total number of international organizations proposed for financing in 2026 has decreased by three compared to 2025, as a result of terminating membership in the Joint Consultative Group of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe and the International Sugar Organization, as well as the advance financing of the commitment to IFAD, which led to savings of about 750.8 thousand lei.
