European Courtyard Program resumes work in Chișinău: focus on quality and responsibility

The governmental program European Courtyard has resumed its work after a temporary suspension during the cold season, intended to protect the quality of the interventions. The project aims at rehabilitating apartment block courtyards in the municipality of Chișinău and its suburbs, providing residents with modernized, safe, and functional urban spaces.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Vladimir Bolea held a meeting today with the contractors involved in implementing the projects, calling for the deployment of teams on the ground. During the discussions, the official emphasized the importance of adhering to execution schedules, as well as the quality of the interventions and the responsibility of contractors toward the residents who are awaiting the completion of the works.

“The European Courtyard program is a program for the people, and the quality of the works and of the materials used is a priority. Build these courtyards in such a way that they truly become your business card,” Bolea said.

Each selected courtyard benefits from up to 5 million lei for repair works, which include the modernization of access roads and stairways; modern street lighting; the arrangement of parking spaces and playgrounds; installation of urban furniture; creation of access ramps for people with reduced mobility.

The European Courtyard program contributes to improving the quality of life for residents of Chișinău by providing safe, modern and attractive urban spaces that meet community needs and create a comfortable environment for everyday life. Responsible execution of the works and compliance with technical standards are key elements for the success of the initiative, the Ministry of Infrastructure concludes.
