
Moldovan government additionally allocates about 174.5 million lei from state budget to local authorities for public sector salaries
The government has allocated about 174.5 million lei from the state budget to local public authorities, in order to cover the necessary salary expenses in public sector.
The draft approved by the cabinet provides for the allocation of 174,488.7 thousand lei to local budgets as special-purpose transfers, for the payment of salaries and state social insurance contributions, for primary, secondary and high school education institutions, which are funded based on a standard cost per student, sports schools, as well as for social assistance services.
At the government meeting, Minister of Finance Victoria Belous, said that the amount proposed had been determined following an analysis of the level of fulfillment of personnel expense by the local public authorities, including following the consideration of the requests received from the concerned authorities. The initiative aims to ensure the full payment of salaries in the public sector, according to the law, noted Victoria Belous.
