PM participates in Moldova Digital Summit 2025
Integrating digital solutions in all sectors, continuing the digitalization of public services and adopting high digital standards as part of Moldova's European path are essential objectives for the upcoming period. Prime Minister Dorin Recean has made statements to this effect at one of the most significant regional events for the information technology sector - the Moldova Digital Summit 2025, held on June -5-7.
"The digital transformation is no longer an option, but an absolutely necessary condition for economic success and international relevance. In the context, non-IT businesses need your help; they need to know how to enhance productivity, improve efficiency and be competitive. I rely on you to help non-IT businesses adopt IT solutions and, above all, artificial intelligence," Prime Minister Dorin Recean said in his address to the participants in the event.
The PM noted the government's progress in digitalizing public services: today, over 80 per cent of entrepreneurs interact digitally with the state, from opening a business to paying taxes.
"Time saved means trust and digitalized public services are our key to regaining citizens' trust," the prime minister noted, referring to the impact of social network’s development and the risks of misinformation. It is worth noting that, during the event, a new digital platform was launched, allowing citizens to participate in public decision-making—eDemocracy.
As for Moldova's European path, PM Dorin Recean emphasized that, in the coming years, alongside legislative and institutional reforms, the country must adopt high digital standards, complex IT systems and technology infrastructure compatible with the European Union’s one.
Thus, the participants in the summit were encouraged to have productive discussions and identify smart digital solutions to modernize and make public bureaucracy more efficient. "We are announcing a competition for a 'government smart bureaucracy solution.' The government of Moldova will be your first client and the best promoter of your solutions!" said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
This year's edition of the Moldova Digital Summit hosts 100 speakers from domestic and international domains, about 150 companies and over 3,500 attendees in all.
