Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov will visit the European capital where she will present Moldova's progress in aligning with EU standards and measures taken to protect consumer rights and improve public health.

Cristina Gherasimov notes that during the visit she will discuss protecting citizens' interests through safe products, quality services and efficient health policies.

'This week, we are discussing in Brussels about consumer protection and public health, Chapter 28. We are analyzing what Moldova is doing to protect consumer rights, which would ensure a better life for every citizen of our country.'

State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization Cristina Ceban noted that consumer protection policies will provide clear information and help consumers better understand their rights.

'The implementation of consumer protection policies will ensure higher quality products for citizens, information about goods and services, a better understanding by consumers of the rights and the actions they can take if they are violated.'

The implementation of European standards will improve health services and ensure fair access to quality medicines, said Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health Svetlana Nicolaescu.

'Implementing European provisions in the health protection will allow us to offer higher quality health services and promote a healthier lifestyle. We will have high standards of protection and prevention of communicable diseases, mental illnesses and cancer. We ensure equitable access to quality medicines and medical devices for all citizens.'

Chapter 28 refers to the alignment of Moldova's legislation with European Union standards in two essential areas: consumer rights protection and public health.
