Exhibition by two artists from Moldova Inaugurated in Brussels; PM says Moldovans make country's voice known worldwide
Prime Minister Dorin Recean has participated in the inauguration of an art exhibition titled, Voices of Moldova: Art in Troubled Times. The vernissage is, for the first time, hosted by the European External Action Service and showcases the works of two young artists from our country - Valeria Duca and Nadya Izosimova.
PM Recean appreciated the talent and dedication of the artists and thanked colleagues from the European External Action Service for hosting the vernissage, He noted that it was a good opportunity for the international community to become acquainted with the realities and culture of Moldova.
‘’I am happy to know that through talent, courage, and creativity, our people make the voice of Moldova known worldwide. They represent us with dignity and show, day by day, that Moldova can,’’ said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
Valeria Duca's exhibition, titled, February 2022 - Echoes, is dedicated to the refugee crisis from the first month of the war in Ukraine and represents the stories of people who found shelter in Moldova. The artist created the works from her personal experience, after volunteering for a month at a refugee center and being deeply touched by the humanity and solidarity of the Moldovan people with Ukrainian refugees.
The vernissage also features works by artist Nadya Izosimova, titled, Light Will Bring Me Home. They represent an artistic fusion of painting, graphics, embroidery, folklore motifs and elements of folk and street art. Thus, the artist uniquely reinterprets the human experience, aspects of tradition and the culture of Moldova.
The exhibition will be open for almost one month.
