Moldovan parliament speaker meets Secretary-General of the Hague Arbitration Court
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague Marcin Czepelak. The discussions focused on recent legislative improvements targeting justice, anti-corruption efforts and strengthening the cyber security.
Speaker Igor Grosu said that, a few days ago, the Moldovan parliament had voted for the Moldova’s accession to the Hague Convention for the Pacific Settlement of International Disputes, signed in 1907 – a fundamental document in the global legal architecture.
“This accession provides us with access to international mediation and arbitration mechanisms and represents a clear signal of the maturity of Moldovan diplomacy and the strengthening of the state's neutrality,” Igor Grosu stressed.
At the meeting, the parliament speaker reiterated the firm commitment to work for a peaceful, stable and European Moldova.
The meeting with Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague Marcin Czepelak took place in the context of Igor Grosu's visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
