PM meets European official in Brussels
The European Parliament supports the Republic of Moldova and stands by us in decisive moments, and our country will work to be ready for accession by 2028. These statements were made by Prime Minister Dorin Recean, who had a discussion in Brussels with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
Dorin Recean expressed gratitude for the constant assistance offered to our country by the European Parliament.
‘I met again in Brussels with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, who has always been with us on our European path. I thanked her for the constant support offered in the Parliament and for her trust in the power of Moldovans to build a future in peace and prosperity,’ wrote Dorin Recean.
The Prime Minister stated that the European Parliament supports Moldova and stands by us in decisive moments. As a proof is the recent support from MEPs from all member states for the Growth Plan for Moldova — aid worth 1.9 billion euros.
'We will work to be ready for accession by 2028, and the Republic of Moldova should not only be supported but also represented in the European Parliament as an EU member,' concluded Dorin Recean.
Recean is paying a visit to Brussels on June 3-4, where the ninth meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Council is taking place. The discussions focus on the reform agenda, emphasizing justice reform, the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of democracy and security. Additionally, economic cooperation, especially in the energy sector, will be analyzed.
