Farmers of Moldova to receive partial compensation of diesel excise duty for March 1 – May 31, 2026: government allocates 110 million lei
Farmers will be able to benefit from financial support for the compensation of the excise duty included in the price of diesel purchased during the period March 1– May 31, 2026. The government has approved the allocation of 110 million lei from the Reserve Fund, which will be managed through the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA).
The compensation will cover 100 per cent of the excise rate set for 2026, in the amount of 3,978.95 lei per ton, within the limit of the 110 million lei budget. The value of the financial assistance provided to a single beneficiary will not exceed 200,000 lei. This ceiling enables an equitable distribution of resources and gives as many agricultural producers as possible access to support.
“This measure is temporary and is meant for farmers affected during this period. Our aim is to ease cost pressures on agricultural producers, to cover as many farmers as possible who have suffered losses and to ensure the continuity of their activity and the maintenance of cultivated areas,” said Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Ludmila Catlabuga.
Financial support can be accessed by farmers and public institutions in the field of agricultural research and innovation that hold agricultural land or livestock farms and have purchased diesel during the eligible period.
Applications may be submitted under the call launched by order of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry. To request compensation, beneficiaries will submit the application physically at the AIPA territorial subdivisions in the area of which the farm is located. Each applicant may submit only one application under the call.
After receiving the applications, AIPA will verify the files, calculate the amount of financial aid and issue the individual administrative acts required to authorize the payments.
