The Education Week has concluded with the Study in Moldova event and the Be PRO! Choose to Be a Teacher! campaign. The event, held with the participation of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, brought together over 4,000 graduates from across the country and aimed to promote study opportunities in Moldova, as well as to encourage young people to choose the teaching profession.

In his speech, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu delivered a message of encouragement, gratitude and confidence in the graduates’ future. The PM urged young people to thank the teachers and families who have supported them, to find mentors and to learn from one another.

“You are from Moldova – be proud of your country. I hope you will find your path here, at home. Make us proud – your mentors, your families – but above all, make yourselves proud!” the prime minister said.

The government supports young people who choose to continue their studies at home by increasing scholarships, which will reach up to 4,565 lei, and by fully covering scholarships for those who opt for such fields as mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

At the same time, graduates will have access to new study programmes, including joint programmes with Romania that give the possibility of getting two diplomas and receiving two scholarships. Dual programmes will allow students to work in their chosen field and develop practical skills, while through Erasmus programmes, they will be able to combine studies at home with international academic experiences.

Investments in modernizing educational infrastructure will continue through the renovation of classrooms and laboratories, so that pupils and students can benefit from modern learning conditions.

The Study in Moldova event and the Be PRO! Choose to Be a Teacher! campaign reaffirm the government’s commitment to modernize the education system, support young people and strengthen the prestige of the teaching profession in Moldova.
