Moldovan Central Electoral Commission says mail-in voting envelopes can be received till September 26
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announces that the envelopes sent by electors who vote by mail must be received by the four electoral offices of the polling stations established for this type of voting by September 26, 2025, 18:00, local time of the host country.
If the ballot envelope is sent to the voter, but the outer envelope does not arrive at the electoral office by the deadline, the office notifies the voter via the email address indicated in the application. This notification is equivalent to the cancellation of the mailed ballot. However, the voter can go to any physical polling station abroad to exercise his/her right to vote.
The received envelopes are kept till election day and are opened and counted only after the polling stations in the host country have closed.
CEC reminds that, for the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025, mail-in voting is valid in ten countries: USA, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
