Moldovan Central Electoral Commission sets monthly state subsidies for political parties in 2026
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has set the amount of monthly state budget subsidies for political parties in 2026, based on the results achieved at the most recent elections. The decision was adopted at a today’s meeting and includes differentiated amounts for valid votes cast at parliamentary, local and presidential elections, as well as for women and young people elected to public office, according to the CEC.
Thus, the monthly amount set for each valid vote in the parliamentary elections of 28 September 2025 is 1.0703980 lei, in the general local elections of 5 November 2023 – 0.6041582 lei, and in the presidential elections of 20 October 2024 – 0.6091774 lei. For each woman elected to parliament or local councils and for each young person elected, the subsidies range between 90.79 lei and 23,126.32 lei, depending on the level of the election.
The CEC has also ordered the suspension of subsidy payments for 2026 to four parties, including the Party for the Future of Moldova and the political party Democracy at Home, withholding total amounts ranging from several thousand to over 1.6 million lei, in accordance with the Commission’s previous decisions. The subsidies will be transferred monthly to the bank accounts of the parties, the details of which have been communicated to the CEC.
