Parliament speaker says Moldova condemns attacks against civilians in Ukraine, which cannot be justified in any way

Moldova condemns attacks against civilians, which cannot be justified in any way and which represent war crimes. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today made statements to this effect, after a passenger train had been attacked by Russian drones in Ukraine.

The official emphasized that Moldova stood in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and extended sincere condolences to the bereaved families.

“Last night, at a distance of less than 200 km from Chisinau, in Odesa, the Kremlin launched over 150 Russian drones, killing three people and injuring another 25. Also yesterday, the Kremlin attacked with drones a passenger train in the Kharkiv region. Approximately 200 Ukrainians were on that train, unarmed people who were traveling to their homes, to their families. Moldova condemns attacks against civilians, which cannot be justified in any way and which represent war crimes. Moldova stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and extends sincere condolences to the bereaved families,” said Igor Grosu.

More people died following a Russian drone attack on a passenger train in northeastern Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky described the action as an “act of terrorism” and called for increased pressure on Moscow.
