Moldovan official journal roundup for today
The Official Journal today published the Roadmap on Public Administration Reform, the Roadmap on Rule of Law and the Roadmap on Functioning of Democratic Institutions. They serve as reference criteria in Moldova's accession to the European Union.
The documents include clear actions and deadlines for implementation, as well as responsible institutions, to achieve the objectives. The three strategic documents have been developed in the context of the negotiation for Moldova’s EU accession.
The Roadmap on Public Administration Reform aims to develop an efficient, transparent and accountable public administration focused on improving public services for the benefit of citizens.
The document establishes the way of organizing and coordinating actions related to public administration reform, in accordance with Moldova’s commitments on European path, and shows the Government's determination to advance on the European integration path.
Secretary General of the Government Artur Mija previously said that the Roadmap on Public Administration Reform ensures that at the time of EU accession, our country will have a stronger, more professional and citizen-oriented public administration.
Meanwhile, the Roadmap on Rule of Law outlines the strategic outcomes that Moldova aims to achieve in the coming years to strengthen the rule of law as the cornerstone of the country’s democratic development. The general objective is to consolidate the independence of the judiciary, protection of fundamental rights, and the area of freedom, security, and justice in accordance with the EU’s highest standards.
To achieve this goal, the Roadmap focuses on several areas: the judiciary system, fighting corruption, fundamental rights, combating organized crime, cooperation between law enforcement institutions, border management, asylum, migration, visa policy, and judicial cooperation in civil, commercial, and criminal matters.
At the same time, the Roadmap on Functioning of Democratic Institutions is structured into three thematic blocks: the electoral process, functioning of Parliaments in a democratic system and the role of civil society. Each thematic block has defined objectives leading to actions.
The decisions approving the Roadmaps came into effect today with the publication in the Official Journal of Moldova.
