VIDEO // Health Minister: It is vital to go to vote
Health Minister Ala Nemerenco delivered a message of unity in the context of the parliamentary elections on September 28 and urged citizens to participate.
“The population, regardless of ethnicity needs a rigorous, quality healthcare system, which they can access fully and freely through the health insurance system. That's why I call on all citizens, first of all to go to vote, and secondly – to vote for the continuation of the European path that has made these changes possible,” said Nemerenco.
At the same time, the minister made an appeal to all employees in medical institutions – from doctors to auxiliary staff – to participate in the elections on September 28.
“I would like to make an appeal, especially to medical workers, whether they operate in a small rural center or a large tertiary hospital here in Chișinău. I urge you to choose the path on which Moldova has finally been able to embark – a pro-European path,” Nemerenco said.
The official emphasized that the health system has benefited from unprecedented investments over the last four years, of over 4 billion lei, resources attracted with the support of the European Union and other partner states. “Those huge investments, which the Republic of Moldova has never had, were visible. Many patients have felt these changes, either through access to compensated medicines or through costly medical services offered for free. All of this was possible thanks to our European path,” the minister pointed out.
The parliamentary elections will take place on Sunday, September 28.
