Increased traffic at border in Moldova: authorities take measures to streamline traffic, come up with recommendations for travelers

The Customs Service and the Border Police are taking measures to streamline traffic and reduce waiting times at the border, in the context of enhanced traffic recorded at more crossing points.

To manage the cross-border flow, additional measures are being implemented: continuous monitoring of the situation, reinforcement of staff, opening additional control lanes, applying the REVERS procedure and ongoing cooperation with border authorities from neighboring states.

At the same time, the authorities are issuing recommendations for travelers. For a faster and more comfortable border crossing, travelers are urged to check the validity of their documents in advance and to consult the situation at the border crossing points before departure.

In addition, travelers are advised to opt, where possible, for alternative routes, such as Leova–Bumbata and Cahul–Oancea instead of Leuseni–Albita, Costesti–Stanca and Lipcani–Radauti Prut instead of Sculeni, and Tudora–Starokazacie instead of Palanca–Mayaki–Udobnoye.

Today morning, an increased flow of travelers was recorded at the Leuseni–Albita and Sculeni border crossing points. By midday, the authorities said that the heavy cross-border traffic at Leuseni had been eased, while at Sculeni traffic volumes for travelers and vehicles remained high, both on entry to and exit from Moldova.
