Moldovan parliament speaker comments on detection of drones on country’s territory
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has urged citizens not to approach or touch unknown or suspicious objects that could be components of drones. If such objects are detected, people are urged to immediately call the 112 Service.
The official emphasized that the responsible institutions would intervene rapidly to secure the area and carry out the necessary investigations.
“Let’s not forget that there is war in the neighboring country and we must stay vigilant. Thus, these cases once again show that Moldova needs to invest more in the national surveillance and interception system,” Igor Grosu said.
The speaker also urged citizens to get information only from official sources, in order to avoid speculation and disinformation.
More drone components were discovered on a field in Telenesti district on April 29. The drone is believed to have illegally flown through the airspace of Moldova on March 30, 2026. In addition, an object resembling a drone was found on April 27 evening on the roof of a block of flats in the Centru district of the Moldovan capital. It did not contain explosive substances.
