Moldovan troops participate in Strong Griffin 2026 exercise in Lithuania

A group of soldiers from the National Army is participating on 3-14 September in the multinational exercise “Strong Griffin 2026,” held in Lithuania. The Moldovan soldiers are training alongside approximately 2,500 troops from eight countries in activities focused on planning and applying procedures specific to international exercises.

According to the Ministry of Defense, during the exercise, personnel from the Republic of Moldova are conducting training activities together with contingents from the participating states. The training is focused on developing planning capabilities and applying procedures used in international exercises.

Approximately 2,500 troops from Lithuania, the United States, Poland, the Netherlands, France, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, and Portugal are participating in “Strong Griffin 2026.”

The exercise also involves approximately 500 pieces of military equipment.

The Ministry of Defense states that the participation of Moldovan troops in “Strong Griffin 2026” is taking place in accordance with the National Army’s Training Plan for 2026.

The exercise is being held in Lithuania by 14 September.
