PHOTO // Martisor crosses border: travelers welcomed with symbolic gesture at crossing points of Moldova
The Border Police of Moldova has marked the arrival of spring through a symbolic action carried out at the state border crossing points, where travelers were offered Martisors – symbols of rebirth, hope, and the beginning of March.
On March 1 morning, border police officers welcomed people crossing the border with a simple gesture, yet one filled with cultural significance. The Martisor, a traditional symbol of spring, was given to travelers as a message of welcome and good cheer in a space usually associated with strict control procedures.
Representatives of the institution emphasized that the initiative was not a formal one, but stemmed from the desire to convey a message of human warmth and to keep alive the connection with national traditions. Travelers received Martisors with smiles and emotion, the surprise turning the moment of crossing the border into a more friendly experience.
