PHOTO, VIDEO // Spring celebrated at border through tradition in Moldova; Customs Service employees welcome travelers with Martisor charms
The Martisor tradition has come to life once again at the borders of Moldova, where the first day of spring was marked by a symbolic gesture dedicated to everyone crossing the customs checkpoints. Customs officers welcomed travelers with Martisor charms – a symbol of hope, renewal, and beautiful new beginnings.
This year, the tradition was complemented by a modern element aimed at properly informing passengers. Along with the Martisor, travelers also received a greeting card containing a QR code through which they can quickly access clear information on the rules for transporting goods across the border, as well as the permitted value and quantity limits, thus contributing to a more predictable, transparent and hassle-free customs process.
A special moment was created at the Eugen Doga International Airport – Chisinau customs post, where the beginning of spring was intertwined with the emotion of art and respect for national cultural values. The festive atmosphere was highlighted by the notes of the famous waltz composed by maestro Eugen Doga, performed by the Border Police brass band, as well as by choreographic moments that turned the airport space into a true symbol of rebirth and harmony.
In a joint setting, customs officers and border police offered Martisor charms to passengers, creating a memorable experience for those at the start of their journey or returning home, demonstrating that the border means not only control and procedures, but also care for people and respect for traditions.
Through this initiative, the Customs Service reaffirms its commitment to being close to citizens and the travel environment, promoting not only security and the facilitation of trade and movement, but also values that bring the institution closer to the community.
A video of the event was published on the institution’s official Facebook page.
