Moldovan speaker: Today Romanians everywhere celebrate 107 years since Union of Bessarabia with Romania
Speaker Igor Grosu congratulated citizens at the beginning of today's plenary session on marking 107 years since the Union of Bessarabia with Romania.
"We celebrate our shared culture and history," he said.
He said that today is also marked World Theatre Day.
"National theatres from Bucharest and Iași are coming to Chișinău on a tour with three plays. To mark this important day, we are hosting members of the Committee for Culture and Media from the Romanian Senate at the Parliament during these days," said Grosu.
Today we mark 107 years since the Union of Bessarabia with Romania. The vote of Sfatul Țării in Chișinău on 27 March 1918 initiated the Great Union process, finalized with the Great Assembly at Alba Iulia on 1 December 1918.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the inauguration of the monument of Queen Maria will take place in the courtyard of Gheorghe Asachi High School in Chișinău.
