On 26 June President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu paid a working visit to Rîșcani district. During the day, the head of state met with local authorities, representatives of public services, entrepreneurs and citizens from several localities in the district.

During discussions with district authorities and representatives of public services, Maia Sandu emphasized the importance of European funds for the development of localities. Through the European Village programs I and II alone, investments of nearly 80 million lei have been made in the district. Water supply networks have been expanded in the localities of Costești, Pociumbeni, Dumeni; tens of kilometers of streets have been illuminated in Hiliuți, Mihăileni, Duruitoarea Nouă; several kindergartens and schools have been rehabilitated; recreation areas for children and young people have been built in several villages, including Aluniș, Șaptebani and Corlăteni.

"We can do even more with the help of European funds. Therefore, we must continue on the European path - the only one that can bring us development, peace and prosperity," declared President Sandu.

The head of state also visited Costești-Stînca Hydroelectric Node and the G58 national road sector - between Păscăuți and Călinești - which is undergoing rehabilitation. So far, over 100 million lei from the Road Fund have been invested in the district's roads.

Significant investments have also been made in healthcare. With nearly 18 million lei, the district hospital has been equipped with modern equipment, ambulances have been purchased, and pharmacies have been opened in several villages.

At the end of the visit, President Maia Sandu had discussions with the citizens of Costești, Corlăteni and nearby villages. The discussions focused on both the progress made so far and the issues needing urgent solutions - from road infrastructure and hospital conditions to jobs and quality education. The head of state conveyed that people's involvement matters and that the state will continue to invest where communities need it the most.
