“We confirm that a delegation of the Agriculture Ministry of Afghanistan has received entry visas to Moldova. The visit was initiated in the context of discussions held by local agricultural producers with representatives of Moldova’s  Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry on possible humanitarian exports to Afghanistan, a country facing a severe situation of food insecurity,” the institution said.

In the context, the ministry announces that there will be no bilateral meetings or official contacts with the representatives of the delegation.

“The delegation that arrived in Moldova is not subject to international sanctions. Our country strictly observes the international sanctions regimes and does not recognize the Taliban government of Afghanistan. In the context, we announce that there will be no bilateral meetings or official contacts with the representatives of the delegation,” the MAE specified.

The institution also said that the government ordered an examination of how the invitation and visas had been issued, as well as a revision of internal procedures.
