Speaker in Hungary: It is important both in Moldova and Romania we maintain European path
Speaker Igor Grosu met yesterday with Moldovan community in Budapest, Hungary. He urged those with Romanian citizenship to vote this weekend for President of Romania. "It is important that both in Moldova and Romania we maintain the European path and most importantly, protect our vote".
The official said that during the meeting, he discussed with community members about the situation back home, achievements and the steps to follow.
"In Budapest, we have a small but strong Moldovan community. Over the years, they have managed to form the Association of Moldovans and the Association of Students - organizations that lovingly promote our traditions and culture: from Mărțișor and folklore to authentic Moldovan cuisine and many more. Our Moldovans work and study here, but on every occasion, they return home because the longing and love for the country remain strong," Grosu said.
He said that a beautiful example of involvement is Veronica Grigoraș. "Although she has lived abroad for many years, her heart beats for her native village Ciuciulea, Glodeni district. Veronica, like everyone present at the meeting, sees the future of the Republic of Moldova in the European Union," Grosu concluded.
Grosu attended the EU Speakers Conference on May 11-12. The meeting took place in Budapest, hosted by the Hungarian Parliament.
