Cricova Winery becomes state-protected monument
Cricova Winery, a symbol of national cultural heritage, is set to be officially registered in the registry of state-protected monuments of the Republic of Moldova. A draft decision to this effect was approved today by the parliamentary committee on culture, education, research, youth, sports and media.
The legislative initiative, set up by the Ministry of Culture, aims not only at officially recognizing Cricova as a protected monument but also updating information on architecture monuments already included in the registry.
According to the authorities, the proposed changes will ensure better documentation and protection of the national architectural heritage, while also facilitating public access to correct and updated information about immovable assets with monument status.
Cricova winery is internationally recognized for its underground galleries and wine tradition, being considered a major cultural and tourist landmark of the Republic of Moldova.
