Government transfers land to Ungheni for urban development and revitalization of central area
Moldovan government has approved the transfer from the management of the Ministry of Defense to the property of Ungheni municipality of a land and real estate assets that are no longer used according to their intended purpose and are in a degraded state.
"Just as we have helped other cities - Chișinău, Bălți, now we will help the city of Ungheni. A European project for citizens is to be implemented, which will change the appearance of the city," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The decision will allow local authorities to harness a plot of almost 3 hectares located in the city center. "In place of the former military unit, a multifunctional hall will be built, a park will be arranged, and social infrastructure for citizens will be developed," Secretary General of Government Artur Mija said.
As a result, the area will be modernized for the benefit of the community and will become more attractive for the city's residents and visitors.
