Prime Minister has meeting with President of Romania
Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Alexandru Munteanu held a meeting with President of Romania Nicușor Dan in Dubrovnik. The discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two states, Romania’s support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, and joint projects that bring direct benefits to citizens on both banks of the Prut.
The official appreciated the assistance provided by the Romanian side in managing crises in the energy and environmental sectors, as well as in advancing the development and European integration agenda, stressing that Romania remains the closest and most reliable partner of the Republic of Moldova.
“We are bound not only by joint projects, but also by values, trust and the goal of building a better European future for our citizens. Romania’s support is extremely important for the Republic of Moldova,” said Munteanu.
The officials discussed advancing projects in the infrastructure and energy, underlining the importance of accelerating energy and transport interconnections, including cross-Prut infrastructure projects, which contribute to increased mobility, the development of trade exchanges and the strengthening of regional security.
“We continue working together for concrete results: greater energy security, better infrastructure, stronger economic cooperation and real opportunities for people,” emphasized Munteanu.
At the same time, the parties highlighted the importance of deepening economic cooperation, interconnecting the two markets and increasing Romanian investments in our country. Romania is the main trading partner of the Republic of Moldova, and more than 1,700 enterprises with Romanian capital are operating in our country, with investments of about 7 billion lei.
