Prime Minister in talks with Federal Chancellor of Austria
Strengthening Moldovan-Austrian cooperation, Austria’s support for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, and harnessing the economic potential between the two states were the main topics discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Stocker in Dubrovnik.
The official appreciated the consistent support provided by Austria in modernizing the Republic of Moldova, including through concrete projects that improve people’s lives.
Currently, with the support of the Austrian Development Agency, projects worth over 32 million euros are being implemented in our country in areas such as education, agriculture, climate resilience, and the modernization of local infrastructure. At the same time, projects aimed at improving living conditions through access to water and sanitation are being supported. In Edineț, a new water treatment plant is under construction, which will benefit about 26,000 citizens. The officials also discussed cooperation in the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, including through the exchange of expertise and support for key reforms. Another topic concerned the development of economic relations. The parties emphasized their interest in increasing investments, expanding trade exchanges, and strengthening sectoral cooperation, including in the fields of renewable energy and infrastructure.
