Deputy Prime Minister to pay official visit to Kazakhstan

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi will pay an official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan on 1-3 July, at the invitation of his Kazakh counterpart, Murat Nurtleu. The visit aims to strengthen political dialogue and expand bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment fields.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Astana, Popșoi will have meetings with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu.

A key moment of the visit will be the official inauguration of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Astana - an essential step in strengthening our country's diplomatic presence in Central Asia. The event will be attended by Popșoi and Murat Nurtleu. The decision to establish the embassy was proposed by Popșoi and approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova on 28 August 2024.

On 3 July, Popșoi will be in Almaty to meet with city's mayor Darhan Satybaldy, and will visit an enterprise with Moldovan capital. Additionally, Popșoi will meet with members of the Moldovan community residing in Kazakhstan.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Kazakhstan were established on 16 September 1992. The Republic of Kazakhstan opened an embassy in Chișinău in 2020.
