
European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, Rule of Law, and Consumer Protection to visit Moldova
European Commissioner for Democracy, Justice, Rule of Law, and Consumer Protection Michael McGrath will make an official visit to Chisinau on June 5-6.
According to the EU Delegation in Chisinau, the agenda begins with a visit to the Consumer Call Center, alongside Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor. The center is an example of best practices in consumer protection, in accordance with European standards.
In the evening, the Commissioner will meet with representatives of civil society for an open dialogue about justice, democracy and consumer rights.
The day of June 6 will be dedicated to judicial reform. The Commissioner will have meetings at the Integrity Evaluation Commission, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the Supreme Court of Justice. A joint press conference with Minister of Justice Veronica Mihailov-Moraru is scheduled for 11:30.
In the afternoon, discussions are planned at the governmental and legislative levels, including with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the head of the parliament’s juridical commission for appointments and immunities, Veronica Rosca, about Moldova's European path.
