
Moldovan PM meets European Council President
We enjoy the support of the EU for the transformations the country is going through, and this support will be reconfirmed at the Moldova – European Union Summit in next July, which we will host. Prime Minister Dorin Recean has made statements to this effect, after a meeting with President of the European Council António Costa in Brussels.
The PM emphasized that the discussion with the European official was productive, reiterating the commitment to bring Moldova into the EU family.
‘’I end the working visit to Brussels with a good discussion with President of the European Council António Costa. We share the same vision: Moldova's path to the great European family is a natural one, supported by the will of the citizens and strengthened through daily work and firm commitment. We enjoy the support of the EU for the transformations our country is going through, and this support will be reconfirmed at the Moldova – European Union Summit in next July, which we will host,’’ said Dorin Recean.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean pays a visit to Brussels on June 3-4, where the ninth meeting of Moldova - European Union Association Council took place. The participants in the meeting assessed the progress regarding Moldova's path to EU accession and achievements recorded since the last Association Council meeting.
The discussions focused on the reform agenda, with emphasis on judiciary reform, anti-corruption efforts and strengthening democracy and security. Also, economic cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, was analyzed.
