President meeting with Moldovans in Italy and Spain
President Maia Sandu met with Moldovans in Italy and Spain. The head of state spoke to them "about Moldova we are building together – a safe, fair, and European country".
The official emphasized that in all her discussions with external partners, the concerns and needs of Moldovans are a priority.
"In recent days, I have met with our Moldovans in Italy and Spain – people who carry Moldova in their hearts, even far from home. To turn this vision into reality, we have built trust-based relationships with friendly countries, and thanks to these relationships, we achieve tangible results that improve the lives of Moldovans, both at home and abroad," Maia Sandu said.
In Rome, the president announced that the Social Protection Agreement between Moldova and Italy is in the final stages of ratification by the Italian authorities.
"We are striving for it to come into force by the end of this year. In Spain, our Moldovans already benefit from two important agreements: the social protection agreement and the driver's license conversion agreement, both of which came into force last year," Maia Sandu said.
According to statistics, about 100,000 Moldovans officially reside in Italy, and over 22,000 - in Spain.
