Romania’s acting PM cuts short visit to Moldova

Romania’s acting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, is cutting short his visit to Moldova, following the situation triggered by the crash of a Russian drone into a residential building in Galati, Romania. The information was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Moldovan, Daniela Crudu.

The Romanian acting PM today arrived for a visit to Moldova, in order to take part in the event, Strong Mayoralties – Developed Settlements, organized on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN), dedicated to local public administration reform.

Today morning, Ilie Bolojan had a meeting with Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and later delivered a speech in front of about 400 mayors, who gathered on PMAN for the Strong Mayoralties – Developed Settlements event.

“I thank Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu for the invitation to be present at the event held in Chișinău. (...) I will attend the next two meetings and immediately after they conclude, I will return to Bucharest,” Ilie Bolojan said at a press briefing alongside Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, following their participation in the Strong Mayoralties, Developed Settlements event.

According to the Romanian government, in the afternoon the agenda of the visit to Moldova Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to Moldova included trips to the new Stauceni mayoralty’s building and to the Stauceni Cultural Educational Center, a local development project implemented with the support of the Romanian government.

At the same time, the Romanian acting PM had scheduled visits to the French Alliance of Moldova/the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moldova, and to the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic, activities that were, however, canceled due to the decision to cut short his visit to the country.
