
Carabineers to receive modern equipment and new patrol vehicles from Turkey
Carabineers will be equipped with modern gear and new patrol vehicles. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Chișinău between the General Inspectorate of Carabineers of the Republic of Moldova and the Gendarmerie General Command of the Republic of Turkey.
The signing of the Memorandum took place in the presence of State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexandru Bejan, who mentioned that these provisions aim to enhance the level of public order maintenance.
"It is an important moment for the internal affairs system. The support offered by the Republic of Turkey, including in the training our staff, directly contributes to strengthening tactical and operational capabilities. Through this Memorandum, our structures will be better prepared to face security challenges," said Alexandru Bejan.
Turkish official, Lieutenant General İsmail Balibek assured that he "will continue to support the modernization of carabineers."
According to the provisions of the Agreement, the General Inspectorate of Carabineers is set to receive patrol vehicles as well as special protection means. The document also stipulates that a batch of tactical equipment will be delivered to Fulger brigade of the General Police Inspectorate.
