Moldovan parliament speaker rejects accusations by Tiraspol separatist regime on alleged interference with “so-called presidential elections”

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu rejects the accusations made by the Tiraspol separatist regime on alleged interference with the “so-called presidential elections,” due to be held in the Transnistrian region in the end of this year.

The speaker noted that the Moldovan authorities would not comment on the accusations made by the so-called authorities from the left bank of Dniester.

“The elections there are just like those in Russia. We do not comment on the absurdities of the so-called separatist authorities of the region. I can put it this way: they infringe the human rights. We now have the case of a young man who refuses to become cannon fodder for some separatists. What they must do is release him as quickly as possible and unconditionally. Let no individual from there complain when they will have to greet the constitutional authorities of Moldova,” Igor Grosu said.

The so-called presidential elections in the Transnistrian region are scheduled to take place in December 2026.
