The flag of the European Union on May 9 evening was projected onto the parliament building. The event was dedicated to Europe Day – a celebration of peace, unity, and diversity.

The European flag symbolizes solidarity among European countries and represents such values as democracy, dignity, freedom, equality, the rule of law and human rights.

“Europe Day is a symbol of peace, unity, and cooperation among nations. This day reminds us how important it is to build together a united Europe, in which the values of democracy, solidarity and mutual respect are always defended. Happy Europe Day! Happy Moldova Day!” emphasized Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.

Moldova marked Europe Day on May 9. The celebration recalls the historic moment of the Schuman Declaration, which laid the foundations for European cooperation and for the current European Union. In the context of Moldova’s European path, the holiday has acquired a special significance, showing the country’s aspirations for integration and development.
